Lake Kelsuu

The Outfitter KZ team is pleased to offer a three-day trip to Kelsuu - the most beautiful alpine lake in Central Asia.

Lake Kelsuu is located in the Naryn region of the Kyrgyz Republic at an altitude of 3,500 meters.
The name of the lake speaks for itself - the water is constantly filled in the pit created as a result of a natural blockage between giant rock masses.
Occasionally, water does not come, the outfitters were lucky enough to observe the lake without water in the summer of 2018. The trip involves two overnight stays near the lake to fully enjoy your stay in the highlands, make small trekking and swim in the refreshingly icy water column.

PROGRAM - Trip to Lake Kelsuu

Two three-day trips to the lake are planned for the 2022 season: July 1-3, August 5-7. Guests are required to obtain permission from the Kyrgyz authorities to visit the border zone where Lake Kelsuu is located.

Day 1: Almaty - Lake Kelsuu

• 01:45: Gather at the parking lot of Abay/Zharokov, BC "Taurus," located at Zharokov 124 (southeast corner of the intersection).
• 02:00: Depart for the Kordai border crossing (210 km).
• 05:00: Crossing the state border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• 06:00: Enjoy a light homemade snack. Depart from the border crossing point towards the Boom Gorge (130 km).
• 08:00: Have breakfast at a road cafe in the Boom Gorge, and refuel the SUVs.
• 09:00: Continue your journey from the Boom Gorge to the city of Naryn (170 km).
• 11:30: Arrive in the city of Naryn, where you'll obtain passes for guests to enter the border zone of the Kyrgyz Republic with China. Refuel the SUVs.
• 12:30: Set off from Naryn to Lake Kelsuu, passing through the Akmuz village (120 km).
• 15:00: Enjoy lunch in the form of boxed meals.
• 16:00: Pass through two border control points.
• 17:00: Traverse the Aksai river valley as you continue towards Kelsuu.
• 20:00: Arrive in the vicinity of Lake Kelsuu, set up camp, and prepare dinner.
• 21:30: Dinner at the camp.
• 23:00: Overnight stay in tents.

Day 2: Lake Kelsuu

• 08:00: Begin the day with breakfast at the camp.
• 09:00: Embark on a trek to Lake Kelsuu (3 km).
• 10:30: Reach the shores of Lake Kelsuu and enjoy free time.
• 13:00: Have lunch on the lake in the form of boxed meals.
• 15:00: Return to the camp (3 km).
• 19:00: Dinner at the camp.
• 20:00: Gather around the campfire for engaging conversations.
• 23:00: Overnight stay in tents.

Please note that the program continues into Day 3, but it is not outlined in this response.

Day 3. Lake Kelsuu - Almaty.
07:00. Breakfast at the camp.
10:00. Departure from the valley towards Aqmuz aiyl.
15:00. Lunch in the form of lunches in boxes. Refueling.
16:00. Departure to the border of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Korday (300 km).
20:00. Passing the border.
21:00. Quick snack.
21:30. Departure from Kordai to Almaty (210 km). 00:30. Arrival in Almaty.

Necessary requirements:
- obtaining a pass by the guest to the border zone of the Kyrgyz Republic (documents are submitted by the organizer three weeks before the date of visit),
- the average physical form of the guest and above,
- absence of chronic diseases that can worsen during prolonged stay at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level (blood pressure, intracranial pressure, individual intolerance to heights, etc.).

- transportation of guests in comfortable SUVs, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Land Cruiser 100, Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Patrol,
- driver-guide services throughout the route,

- three meals a day, excluding breakfast on the first day, dinner on the third day,
- overnight stay in three-person tents for two guests,
- rental of camping equipment (tables, chairs, washbasin, tents, mats, sleeping bags), - drinking water for trip participants (1.5 liters/guest per day),
