ITINERARY
DAY 1: TEKES RIVER WATERFALL
07:00 - Depart from Almaty, heading towards the Tekes River waterfall
09:00 - Fuel stop in Chilik village
10:30 - Kurtogay tract for panoramic views of the Charyn River canyon
12:00 - Arrival in Kegen for a final refuel and a picnic lunch
14:30 - Arrival at the Tekes River trailhead; gear check and preparation
15:30 - Begin the 3.5 km trek to the hidden Tekes River waterfall
16:00 - Return trek back to the parking area (3.5 km)
17:30 - Depart for the overnight lodging location
19:00 - Arrive at the overnight lodging location, set up camp, and enjoy dinner prepared by the guide
20:30 - Dinner and socializing by the evening campfire
22:00 - Overnight under the stars (comfortable triple tents shared by two guests)
DAY 2: LAKE TUZKOL AND KETMEN PASS
07:00 - Breakfast at the campsite
09:00 - Depart towards Lake Tuzkol (65 km)
11:00 - Short walk to the shores of Lake Tuzkol
12:00 - Picnic lunch, then departure towards Ketmen Pass (40 km), with scenic viewpoints throughout the Shalkode Valley
14:30 - Begin the ascent to the Ketmen Pass with photo stops along the way
15:30 - Arrive at the summit of the pass, reaching an elevation of 3,040 m.
15:40 - Pause at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the winding mountain pass
16:00 - Depart for Almaty (340 km)
17:30 - Fuel stop in the regional center of Chundzha
21:00 - Arrive back in Almaty
