General Information
Malaysary Batyr was a close confidant of Ablai Khan, who greatly valued his abilities and contributions as documented in historical sources. He played a pivotal role in freeing Ablai Khan from Jungar captivity. For his bravery and diplomacy, he was bestowed the title of "Tarhan" by the Jungar Khan Galdan Tseren.

Originating from Bayanaul in the Pavlodar region, Malaysary belonged to the Basentiin family of the Argyn tribe. By the mid-18th century, the Dzungar Khanate was in decline. Sultan Ablai sought to influence the selection of the Jungar heir and mobilized troops toward the Kazakh-Jungar border. Malaysary rallied his forces and advanced into Dzungaria but tragically fell victim to a stray enemy arrow, marking the end of a valiant warrior's life. He was interred on one of the spurs of the Jungar Alatau, which now honors his legacy with its name.
