I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to our tour guide - Bahyt on 6th August for the 1-Day Charyn Canyon tour. He arranged the whole itinerary reasonably, took good care of every member of our group, interavtive with my little kid, and shared plenty of interesting local knowledge. Thanks to your hard work, we had a smooth, relaxing and fantastic journey today. Highly recommend you!

We did a private tour to Charyn canyon with Sergey as our guide/driver. It was a fantastic day out and went on a few back roads and canyon viewpoints where we saw no-one else. Sergey was a safe driver and learnt more about the area, plus Kazakhstan. He was particularly helpful at the very end at our drop-off with a non-issue unrelated to the tour, with an partly incorrect address at our airbnb apartment. Great lunch also.

This is a private tour to Charyn Canyon with Damir as our driver and also guide who is simply amazing. He speaks perfect English (of course after a number of years living and studying in the UK himself) and is knowledgeable about everything related to the place. Even more importantly, he drives a Lexus SUV which is so comfortable. I was in a group tour to the Canyon last year. But this time I still managed to see a lot of new things because Damir took us to IG/photo spots off the beaten track, which according to him, are exclusive to his company. All in all, my two friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you, Damir.

We have done three tours with this agency and we loved all. We particularly liked that they took us to lesser known viewpoints of the Charyn canyon that were espectacular.

We had a great personalised day tour to Charyn Canyon which was organised by Maria just a day before. Our thanks to her for getting us an excellent driver - Stash who really knew his way around the Canyon and took us to some amazing spots to view the multi-faceted Canyon, and a wonderful English-speaking guide, Nargiza, who took us on our walk through the Canyons and gave us an insight into not just Kazakhstan but also Uzbekistan. The Charyn Canyon is a must-do day trip. The site is breathtaking. Enough pictures show that :) The walk through the Canyon is not long - just 2.6 km. but it is uphill on the way back. Start early so the sun doesn't hit you on the way back! There's the lovely river at the end of the walk with crystal clear cold water.

My friend recommended Azamat's team to make a trip to Charyn Canyon and the outfitters did not disappoint us. The trip to the canyon was unforgettable. Our driver and guide in one person Andrei (crew No. 14) impressed us with a good knowledge of the history and geography of the region, the stories were interesting and informative. The trip left a pleasant impression. We gladly recommend.

A very good company offering great tour options in Almaty. There was clear communication about everything from start to finish. They considered our budget and helped accommodate it well. Our driver/guide Rami was professional, punctual and his driving was very safe. He had no problem communicating fluently in English and Russian to accommodate to the needs of the guests on the tour. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for tours in Almaty.

We took two different one day trips with Yeldar: one to the petroglyphs of Tanbaly and other to the Charyn canyons. He did a great job driving, guiding us and sharing insights and history about the country. Unfortunately in the Tanbaly tour we didn't have the support from Mr. Boris Zheleznyakov, PhD in history, as he was out of town and we had to rely on the explanation of a local shared tour guide. This is the only reason why I wouldn't not rate this as 5 stars. Other than that it was a great experience!

Tours to Charyn Canyon and Big Almaty Lake were very beautiful. I recommend this Company especially for Charyn Canyon. You leave the paved road and explore a really stunning place. Yeldar and Jenya are excellent drivers, very professional and friendly. Go there, Kazakhstan is really beautiful!

We went to the charyon canyon with Pavel and to Issyk lake with Yevgeniy. Both guides did a great job and were very patient with us as we were traveling with our 1 year old daughter. At the charyon canyon we went to places where there were no other tourists which was great. Pavel was a great driver as the roads seemed to be quiet challenging. Yevgeniy who took us to issyk lake was very talkative and told us interesting facts about different things on the way there and on spot. Very easy to talk with him. Would we have had more time we would have gone somewhere else with him. We booked both trips late and for the first trip we were a bit worried that we would not be able to go as we did not hear back from outfitters straight away, but once we did hear back from them everything worked out really well and we were able to go to Charyon canyon the day after and then later onwards to issyk lake. Both cars were clean and in perfect condition as well. I would highly recommend outfitters

Very good trip. Guide and driver yezran professional and very safe driver. Brought us to places where tour buses cannot reach, like moon canyon and stone shelf. Must update their website to be same standard and transparency as viator or getguide.

I would like to say that our trip was great and well prepared. I contacted outfitter KZ via mail and Natalya organised everything perfectly. We were able to confirm all detalis via mail and Whatup. Our driver, Sergey, was well prepared for the tirp. Before we started our tour he took us to the village to show us lokal marked, we also had a chance to buy some local snacks (bread with onion is highly recomened to try!) In the canion he showed us beatiful, scenic places aroud the Canion. He has great knowlege about visiting places. Also he organised pleasant please for lunch- we have a picnic in very quiet and scenic place on the top of the canion. Last but not least, Natalya contacted us the day before the trip with if somebody can jon us to share the cost of the trip. That was really nice.

My partner and I loved our private day tour visit to Charyn Canyon. Ramil was an excellent guide, the jeep was very comfortable and the tour was thoroughly thought out, Ramil took us to amazing viewing spots that had zero tourists, which felt very special. I would highly recommend Outfitters, it offered a wonderful experience that we will never forget and we loved having Ramil as our guide, as he was so kind, thoughtful and very knowledgable. If you are deciding which tour company to choose for this trip, I highly recommend Outfitters KZ, they take you places that no other company take you too, even on the cold, rainy and windy day we visited, Charyn Canyon was epic!

I went on a tour to Charyn Canyon. I chose Nomad Outfitters as they seem to be the only ones that don't do the typical one stop Charyn tour. We took off early morning and arrived before all the crowds - the place wasn't all that crowded on Friday anyways - and enjoyed some piece on the spot. The tour included stops in some other remote and beautiful places definitely worth seeing. Price wise they are very competitive for what they offer! Regardless of one or two passengers in the car. And Yevgeniy acted as both driver and guide so costs don't pile up. Real value for money! Don't miss it!

Our day trip to the Charyn Canyon was incredible. We were able to see the canyon from many different viewpoints (away from the crowds) and take in some stunning scenery. The day was well organised with a mix of walking, driving off road and exploring all the hidden gems. We would 100% recommend doing this tour and visiting the Canyon. Our guide, Ramil, was very helpful and informative. The car was a 4x4 jeep which lovely and spacious. Me and my boyfriend shared our trip with another guy from Germany which meant it was a nice group size to explore the canyon and have a memorable day! The company were very professional with Natalya the team manager organising the timings and day to the guide on the actual day. The price is also very reasonable!

Nomad Outfitters where not only extremely professional (everything in time, according to plan, comfortable, etc.) but also actually very nice. Our driver, Salamat was a very kind person with very interesting conversation, which is something to be happy with when you are going to share about 10 hours non-stop with him. The tour takes you to several spots in the Charyn Canyon area, apparently way more than the ones you visit in regular tours. In any case, all the stops were worth visiting. The beauty of the place is beyond what I can explain with words and Nomad Outfitters team helped make that experience extremely enjoyable.

Went on the tour to see Kazakhstan nature gems: Charon canyon and famous mountain lakes. Sergei our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful, lots of interesting details, views, and good vibes. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to see maximum in short period of time.

Had a 1-day Kaindy and Kolsai lakes, Black and Charyn canyon trip with Sergei as my driver and guide. Before the tour, the organizers were very prompt in replying, kindly answering to all my questions and concerns. For the tour, my guide Sergei was very helpful, providing all necessities that I have not thought of such as coins, tissue, extra cash for horseriding etc. He made sure to prioritize my physical condition and interests in deciding the direction of the tour. Thanks to him, I had a very good experience, and I am willing to travel with this agency again in the future.

We did the express tour to Charyn Canyon and Kaindy Lake. As it was a private tour we could tailor the tour to our liking. Pick up was on time and Yeldar was a very informative guide and safe driver. We enjoyed our day to the fullest.

We didn't have long in Almaty so booked this tour to ensure we had time to see the canyons and lakes near the city. We found our driver Roman and guide Artur to be very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was organised perfectly and we would recommend Outfitters KZ to everyone.

We booked a private tour for my husband and I and requested for an English speaking guide. Max took us on the express tour. He was excellent and patiently answered all our questions. Highly recommend this trip!

Together with a spouse we took a private tour Kolsai & Kaindy Lakes. Igor was applied as our guide. We are satisfied with the service provided. It was really well-organized. That's what we needed. So, if you have a time-limit being in Almaty but want to be closer to the nature and get more information about the local culture you definitely should go with Outfitters. Highly recommended, Vlady

A friend and I (2 people) went on a tour of Charyn Canyon and Kolsai Lakes with Vlad. Very enjoyable experience, especially being able to see parts of the canyon that are off road. This felt like a unique experience that can only be achieved through a tour company with a 4x4 SUV which is offered by outfitters. Selection of the guest house and the food at the guest house was also very enjoyable. It was by not means extravagant but very pleasant and covered our needs. Especially enjoyed visiting the Kolsay Lake 1 -- probably the highlight of the trip. Only wish we would have had more time here.

We did a 2 day tour of the Charyn Canyon, Kolsai lake and Kaindy lake, with an overnight stay in the village of Saty in Kazakhstan. The tour was fantastic and our guide and driver, Damir, was amazing - perfect English, very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We got to see some parts of the canyon that are not often visited by most tourists by travelling off road and that gave us a much better sense of how vast Charyn Canyon really is. It was one of the highlights of our trip in Central Asia.

If you're looking for a tour from Almaty look no further than the top notch Outfitters KZ. They accommodated us on short notice and kept in touch as to our itinerary and relevant details. Damir, our driver/guide for the Charyn Canyon, Kaindy and Kolsay Lake tour was well trained, professional and courteous. He went above and beyond. He arranged an early breakfast so we could arrive early at Kaindy Lake, before others tourists came. He also made sure that my husband who has leg problems had transportation as close to the sights as possible. Damir even brought sunscreen and raincoats for us. On top of all this Damir has an encyclopedic knowledge of Kazakhstan creating an immersive experience on many levels. Our accommodations on the tour were comfortable and the home cooked meals delicious. The picnic lunch was a real treat. Our day trip with Alex to the Tambaly Petroglyphs was also very enjoyable. Outfitters KZ helped create unforgettable memories of our travels in Kazakhstan.

We took a 2 days tour with Nomad Outfitters. We contacted them by email but we found we get quicker response by WhatsApp. We ask them to change the tour so it could leave from Almaty and comes back to Bishkek rather than Almaty. They were very accommodating. We had a young guide and a driver with a land cruiser. The tour went to Charon Canion, Kaindy lake, Kolsai lake, plenty of scenery stops. The young guide was great to explain in English all the history, way of life, etc the driver was safe and took us off-road crossing small streams, places I would not take a rented car. We stayed overnight in a lovely guest house, food was great, dumplings, cakes, pancakes, etc. The scenery was breathtaking, going from desert to lush mountain and rivers. While we spent a lot of time driving, it was very enjoyable. Obviously if you are younger, you might consider longer tours like trekking on horses, etc. Overall I recommend both the tour company and the location.

I highly recommend this agency with whom I organized a two-day tour based Almaty in the Canyon de Charyn, Lake Kaiyndy and Kolsai. Alex was a perfect guide, great connoisseur of the area, helpful and very knowledgeable. He showed us fantastic landscapes off the tourist routes. We slept in a small guest house run by locals, ate traditional food and travelled in a very comfortable jeep. We had contacts with the agency by email and the answers were always timely and detailed. We paid the agreed amount during the excursion without paying any advance. Kazakhstan is still an untouristy country with beautiful nature! Super recommended!

I organised this tour as the first stop during a 10 day trip to Kazakhstan, our first time in the country. Prior to the tour, Mariya was extremley helpful to understand the best options for our party of 10. The communication was brilliant via WhatsApp. Artur was a fantastic tour leader who spoke good English and helped us communicate with the three drivers, who looked after us so well. I fully recommend the two day tour as it gives you the opportunity to explore the best of the region - highlights included the Lunar Canyon, the Kolsai Lakes and other spectatular scenery that is only reachable via 4x4 vehicles and some skillful driving by the Outfitter KZ team.

Amazing adventure, best nature trip in central asia!!!! We did the Charyn Canyons, Kolsay and Kaindy lakes. It was absoloutly beautifull. The cannyon combined with the two hikes give you the full nature experience. Our guide john was great. He spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We had very good food.

Our tour with Outfitter was absolutely great. We did the 2 day tour of Charyn Canyon and the lakes in a small group with Yelbosyn. It was a wonderful trip and although it cost more than we had wanted to spend, it was so worth it. We visited popular well-known spots and also amazing smaller places where we were the only visitors. They also provided vegetarian food for us.

It was amazing! We booked a two days trip to Charyn Canyon and Kolsai Lakes. Really enjoyed, very good organised and our driver, Ramil, knew a lot about history so he was telling us a lot of interesting things and facts during the trip. We learned a lot, loved the places he took us, and really enjoyed the trip. Also, it is a very difficult place to go without a guide as it's huge! I would also like to mention the amazing guest house we stayed in. Alban guesthouse. The family was so nice, bedroom was big and super comfortable, and the best thing was the food. Traveling solo, it is very hard to find a reasonably priced tour. Luckily, Outfitters kept me posted when there was someone else who wanted the same tour. We did the two-day Charyn Canyon, Kolsai Lakes, and Kaindy Lake tour with Ramil as our guide. I was worried that we would be in the car pretty much the whole time, but we actually got out several times, walked/hiked at each spot, and avoided cramped legs during the trip...a major plus. Not only are the sites beautiful, but Ramil took us to several locations of Charyn Canyon where there was nobody else but us. We even had Kaindy Lake, my personal favorite, to ourselves for fifteen minutes in the morning, making it that much more surreal. Ramil is a very knowledgeable and hardworking guy. Once at the guesthouse (which was clean, comfortable, and served delicious food), the jeep had a flat. Ramil fixed it pronto so our trip continued without a hitch. Although there may be cheaper options out there where you are carted around with fifty other people in a large bus, Outfitters provides personalized service with comfort and visits to out-of-the-way sites. I highly recommend them!

I did two tours: the 3-day tour with lakes and canyon, and a day trip to Kok Zhailau. Both were really brilliant. The landscapes are really varied and stunning, and you get to properly hike if you want (which I did). I did them in the winter, which of course was cold but also stunning with snow, ice, and not crowded places. Damir is a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable and keen to make sure you are having a great time. I 100% recommend.

When travelling to a country where English is not the primary language, you have no local contacts, and limited info, arranging out of city expeditions is always a concern. We were quite lucky to have found Mariya at Outfitters - all our queries were promptly answered, we got a great guide, Yelbossyn, who showed us around everything, was never rushed, has a lot of local knowledge, and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience. It also helps that he knows how to use a DSLR well :) The vehicle was in good condition, and his driving is very safe - both of which were critical factors for us. We did the 3 day Charyn Canyons + Kolsoi Lakes + Kaindy Lake trip. Overall everything was great. The only change I would recommend is perhaps a better quality of guest house - this one only had one shower and one WC, shared between 10-12 people, which could get a little busy in the morning when everyone has to leave. If we come back to Kazakhstan again, we would definitely do a trip with Outfitter KZ!

My husband and I took a short break to Kazakhastan ans spent about 8 days in Almaty, of which we spent 3 days with Nomad Outfitters. This was probably the highlight and the best decision of our trip. We would have never been able to explore, indulge and enjoy in the Kazakh land by ourselves or with any other tour operator the way we did with them. Vlad was amazing, and made us at ease while camping in the woods, through the canyons, lakes and forests. Natalya was kind enough to respond back to each of my Whatsapp query and planned our trip superbly. I have no words to describe the scenic beauty of this country, and the sites we witness through Charyn, Kolsai and Kandy. We trekked, we camped, we stayed in Saty Village, and we absolutely enjoyed the tales of the Kazakh land through Vlad's conversations. Definitely returning back to Kazakhastan, maybe during the snow and will plan another trip with Nomad Outfitters. Definitely recommended.

We had an absolute blast on our 2-night/3-day trip throughout Charyn Canyon and beyond. We were a culturally diverse group of about 15 grad students from all over the world - no easy feat for a tour operator to look after as we were like a herd of cats. Azamat and his team were extremely professional and gave us a top notch experience. We had a squad of 8 vehicles and they were very safety conscious, staying in touch with one another throughout the drives by walky-talky, advising on upcoming pot holes, rocks, mud, cars coming in the opposite direction on narrow roads, etc. They have visited these areas hundreds of times in various weather and we could not have been in better hands. They took loads of photos of us as per our request, were patient when we took more time than planned at certain stops, and incredibly efficient when we arrived at each of our campsites. They did not allow us to lift a finger - they set up all of our tents quickly and arranged for a chef to prepare delicious meals for us which they then served and cleaned up seamlessly. They treat their clients like VIPs and the team miraculously never showed signs of fatigue even though we were all exhausted after such an adventure. Irina is a powerhouse guide - she happened to be the only female driver and was an absolute pro. She was lovely to talk to on the drives and is patient and caring. The group of staff had a great team dynamic amongst themselves. On some of the hikes my fear of heights kicked in and whenever I hesitated, Maxim's hand was right there for me to grab onto. He always stayed nearby in case I slipped or spooked. If I were to have the opportunity to go back to Kazakhstan which I hope I do, I would 100% recommend this company, Azamat's team, and specifically request Irina as a driver-guide! Thank you Nomad Outfitters for a once in a lifetime experience!

We were a group of approximately 20 adult international student tourists from a school in the USA. Our organizers hired Nomad Outfitters for 3 days and two nights to take us to Bestamak, Temirlik, Lunar Canyons and various other other-worldly and beautiful places (The Austrian spot, Napoleon, the Stone Shelf, the Valley of the Castles, Saty Mountain Gorge, Kolsay Lake, Kaindy Lake, Saty Village, etc.). Not only was the scenery incredible, but the drivers friendly, cars comfortable, tents fun, and the cooking pretty amazing for outdoor camping dining. Azamat was very knowledgable when answering the many questions our inquisitive group pummeled at him, and the whole operation moved like clockwork, in a completely professional manner. If I were to go back to Kazakhstan on my own to do more nature treks, I would easily hire Nomad Outfitters again.

We had an amazing 5-day trip in Kazakhstan, and it honestly exceeded our expectations. Every day brought something new and beautiful, with incredible contrasts in the landscapes - from wide open plains to lush green mountains and dramatic rocky scenery. We visited some tourist areas, but we also discovered places that were almost empty of tourists, following paths well known to local people. That made the experience feel even more authentic and special. Staying in a yurt was a real highlight for us, such a unique and authentic experience. We also loved how the trip was not just visually stunning, but also full of fascinating explanations from Damir that made us want to learn more about the country, its history, and its culture. And a special mention for Damir, who was absolutely fantastic - passionate, knowledgeable, and always so pleasant. This trip left us with wonderful memories and a real desire to come back.

I've just returned from this 5 day tour and thoroughly recommend it. The tour was very easy so organise via WhatsApp and Maria always promptly responded to my questions. It's the first time I've ever done a private tour with just myself and a guide/driver, but it was a great way to see some of the beautiful sites outside Almaty. My guide, Vlad, was so knowledgeable, organised and just a fun person to tour with. The local guesthouses were all comfortable, and were able to provide delicious vegetarian food. Winter is not a popular time to visit Kazakhstan and I wasn't sure what to expect, but everywhere we visited was accessible with Vlad's excellent driving skills. And the tour was well paced, with a mixture of national parks, cultural sightseeing and one long hike. Don't hesitate to book a tour with Nomad Outfitter KZ!

We did Golden Ring of Zhetysu tour with Sergey being our driver cum guide. best driver and guide we can ever hoped for. Beautifully designed itinerary. not too relaxed not too hectic and then kazak is very beautiful during autumn. just go for it. Totally worth the money spent. Always ask for Sergey to be your driver cum guide.

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience in the nature of Kazakhstan, look no further! I traveled to Kazakhstan at the end of October and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience that Nomad outfitters provided us. We did the 5 day "Golden Ring of Zhetysu" tour and we loved it. Our guide Yeldar was amazing, always super attentive and helpful. Driving was always very safe. I recommend the experience 100%!

I went on a 5-days solo trip, the "Golden Ring of Zhetysu", covering the Altyn-Emel NP, the Charyn Canyon and the Kolsay Lakes. I reached out to Nomad outfitters and other tour agencies a couple of months before my trip to kazakhstan in late September and early October. No one had any group tours I could join! Only Natalya was kind enough to reach out to me again when there were group tours available. Natalya was extremely helpful, organized, detailed, and communicated all the necessary details. She ensured everything on our 5 day Golden Ring of Zhetysu was seamless and problem free. Our guide, Ramil was professional, super accommodating, patient, and helpful. He showed us things not on the typical tour route. Definitely recommend this agency!

Brilliant two day tour from Almaty to the Singing Dunes and Aktau mountains with an overnight stay in Basshi village. Roman, our guide and driver, was brilliant and made everything enjoyable. We had a good amount of time at both sights and Roman enhanced our photos with some great video and photos that he willingly shared. Special thanks to Nomad for moving our trip with no notice by 24 hours after a flight cancellation. A brilliant experience and excellent value too. Highly recommended.

The Altyn Emel park is impressive and a must see if you come to Kazakhstan. Beye and Ali were really nice and shared interesting insights on the park and Kazakhstan in general, it was a good opportunity to learn more about the country. I would recommend doing a tour if you have the chance :)

We went on a 2-day trip to Altyn-Emel National Park and had a great time. The place is amazing and the tour organized by Outfitter KZ was perfect. Everything was well organized according to our requests. Our guides Artur and Roman were both great. Great day tour to Big Almaty Lake and Alma-Arasan Gorge with Outfitters KZ. Damir was an excellent guide, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very patient. The winter scenery was beautiful, and everything was well organised from start to finish. Highly recommended.

We had an incredible time touring Big Almaty Lake, Turgen Gorge, Issyk Lake, and Assy Plateau with Nomad Outfitters. Our tour lead and guides Damir and Dayana were one of the best tour guides we have experienced. They were knowledgeable - Damir shared amazing insights into Kazakhstan's culture, history, nature, and traditions. They were very friendly and a great company on one-day long tours. The areas we visited were beautiful and definitely worth visiting. Assy plateau is unique in its landscape and natural beauty. Both Damir and Dayana are excellent drivers, especially Dayana and made the visits comfortable. We would definitely be back touring with them when we are return to Kazakhstan.

We spent 2 days travelling across, and in and around Almaty with the Damir and Diana from the Outfitters KZ team. Our first expedition was to the big Almaty lake. The Outfitters KZ team assigned Damir who organised for our pickup from the hotel, our hike to the big Almaty lake, as well as gave us an incredible cultural and historical glimpse of the Kazakh people. Or second expedition was to Assy Plateau via Turgen Valley and Issyk Lake. The road to the plateau isn't the greatest (requires 4WD) but Damir's Lexus and Diana driving alongside the easy conversions (in their impeccable english) made the long journey incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed learning about all things Kazakstan in our two days spent with Damir and Diana.

Our guide and drive, Darmir, is the best company one could hope for. Not only he is extremely knowledgeable about Kazakh history but he is also just excellent company. The day long trip seemed to fly away in his presence. It made our day!

We had a really great time with Damir. He's a super friendly and professional guide and made us feel comfortable and relaxed for the whole duration of our trip. We also really appreciated the time he took to explain modern Kazakhstan to us - we have a much greater understanding of this beautiful country and its people as a result. Outfitters are very lucky to have Damir on the team!

We had an amazing trip to Tambaly petroglyphs with Andrey! We were the only tourists on that day. It's a 2 km walk around hills with petroglyphs. We also stopped at the museum before entrance. The petroglyphs are mind blowing! The driver and the guide Andrey is a great person - we highly recommend him! Thank you Andrey!
