What you can do in winter
Most of our tours run all year. The roads to Charyn, Kolsai and Kaindy stay open in winter, the lakes freeze and the mountains turn white. Only the Lake Issyk, Turgen Gorge and Assy Plateau trips close for the winter.

Your questions
Which tours run in winter?
All of them except the Lake Issyk and Turgen Gorge tour, the Assy Plateau tour and the Great Almaty Loop, which closes the plateau part.
Is the road to Kolsai and Kaindy open in winter?
Yes. The roads to Charyn, Kolsai and Kaindy stay open all year. The lakes freeze in winter.
Can I see Big Almaty Lake in winter?
Yes. From November to April it is frozen and snowy. After heavy snow the road sometimes closes for a day, and then we move your tour to another day.
Is the Medeu rink open?
No. It is closed for reconstruction until the end of 2028. The gondola to Shymbulak still runs.
